While India is on the verge of digitalisation and many changes have been introduced in the government systems, the data of most users must be categorised under a single cluster database to fulfil the mission of digitalisation. Aadhar card is such step towards achieving this digitisation. The Aadhaar is a 12-digit identity code comprising a combination of numbers, provided by the Unique Identification Authority of India.
The Aadhaar Enrolment Form is utilised for enrolling and upgrading various details in the Aadhaar card. The same form is also utilised for both the processes. The person concerned has to provide details on the following:
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) functions under the Planning Commission of India. Aadhar collates and records the biometric data of individuals through a central database. The E-Aadhaar is a digitised edition of Aadhar card which could be downloaded online using an individual’s enrolment ID.
In order to apply for Aadhaar, you have to visit an Enrolment Centre and fill the enrolment form. Post-submission of biometric data i.e. photograph, scan of all 10 fingers and Eris scan of both eyes, and provision of proof of Identity and address documents, you will receive an acknowledgement slip mentioning your Aadhaar Enrolment ID. Once you get your Aadhaar, it can also be linked to your PAN Card.
The National Population Register is the database of the identities of all Indians. The goal for national population register is mostly the same as for UIDAI, that gives out Aadhaar cards.
Try to stick to one name and use it same across all your official documents. If you have First Name and Surname, then life is simple. If you have the name with initials then you need to choose.
If your gender has been mentioned incorrectly by mistake in your Aadhar Card, then you can change it anytime easily. When gender is not right in Aadhaar you cannot utilise it for anything since you provide this card for any purpose they might also write your gender incorrectly. For instance, if a person is male then his gender might be mentioned as female or transgender in Aadhaar and vice versa for females.
‘Aadhaar’ cards will henceforth bear date of birth of the holder, facilitating people to avail benefits of several government and non-governmental schemes that require age validation.
Write Down your full Address without any Mistakes in Only CAPITAL LETTERS. This is the address where your Aadhar card will be sent by post so ensure that you write your complete address correctly. Your address should consist of house number, block number, street/road/lane, landmark, area/locality/sector, village/town/city, post office, pin code, district, taluka, state.
The Aadhaar numbers of all members of a family, not just the head of a household, will be linked Consent - In this part, you can choose to allow or deny UIDAI the right to share your information with agencies involved in delivering public and welfare services. Select the ‘tick’ sign if you are OK with information-sharing, and select the ‘x’ sign if you are NOT OK with it.
You may choose to open a new Aadhaar linked bank or post office account or choose to link your existing bank account details to the Aadhaar number to be created. You can also link your Aadhaar Number with Bank Account later on. Most banks also provide an option to map your Aadhaar number using the ATM. This can be done using your debit card and PIN. The ATM menu could differ from bank to bank but would not be any different from withdrawing money. The only difference is that you will have to enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number for a complete seeding process. You can also attach your bank account with Aadhaar number through the phone banking option given by your bank.

Proof of Relationship (PoR) is to be submitted to give a proof of your relationship with the Head of Family. This can also be utilised for making Aadhaar card of minors or children.
The Aadhaar e-signature is a unique electronic identifier based on your Aadhaar data. It is an encrypted signature which you can use to electronically sign documents and agreements. It can be used only with the consent of the Aadhaar owner.
